The Azores Regional Civil Protection and Fire Service (SRPCBA) is a department operating under the Regional Secretariat for Health and is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and supervising, within the Autonomous Region of the Azores, Civil Protection and Fire Service activities, as well as an emergency medical land transport system, to ensure prompt and appropriate health care for victims of accidents or sudden disease.
At its Emergency Operation Center, it ensures the handling of the European Emergency number (112), Medical Emergency Line and other emergency situations that directly or indirectly put the population at risk.
